He studied Industrial Design and Engineering and worked several years as a consultant in Ecodesign. Currently he is assistant professor of Design for Sustainability (DFS) in the Faculty of Industrial Design at the University of Technology Delft, the Netherlands.
In the program Design for Sustainability - DFS is responsible for international projects on sustainable innovation in emerging markets. His research is focused on cultural differences in conception and development of products for so-called "base of the pyramid (BOP). He is a consultant of UNIDO and UNEP and visiting professor at several international universities. Is co-author of the UNEP Design for Sustainability (D4S) and the Manual for Developing Economies (D4S EE).
